School time...

Its another great night at school. Learning all the important facts of the world so I can better myself.....who am I kidding. I am sitting in class wondering how long I will have to sit in here tonight. Last week we were able to leave about 1 1/2 hours early. I don't really want to be here alnight. The Prof already said that he is going to let the class use the last haft of the class to work on our team assignment. I have already completed my section of my the team assignment so I wonder if I can just leave. This week we are learning about the cultural differences that a business needs to be aware of when doing business online. This would normally be a very interesting class, however, this class is the prerequisite for a class I took over a year ago. Somehow this class slipped through the cracks, so I have had other classes that COMPLETELY covered this topic. Luckily the Prof is a good instructor (other than he is a grammar nazi).
That's all for now.

More problems

Ok, tonight I was working my car again. It is all back together and runs perfect......with a small catch....the speedometer doesn't work. Well, I think I have narrowed it down a bit, the problem either lies with the small gear that goes into the transmission or the transmission itself. At first I thought it was the sensor, but I decided to do a few unsafe tests, like running the car while on jack stands, letting the wheels spin, all the while I was leaning into the engine bay. The point of this unsafe experiment was to see if I could actually see the gears inside the speed sensor hole spinning. Well from what I could see they seemed to be spinning just fine. Then I decided to take of the top half of the speed sensor to see if I could actually see the moving parts in the sensor itself. Since I was able to see them, I then turned the sensors gear by hand and could see that the sensors mechanical parts functions as one would expect. So this is where the excitement comes in. I then decided to stick the bottom half of the sensor, with the internal components exposed, into the transmission. This isn't as deadly as it sounds, but its not the safest thing to do. Anyways, no matter what I did I could not get the gears inside of the speed sensor to turn, so this leads me to believe there must be something else wrong. I dont know if its the gear on the bottom of the sensor that has gone bad or if its the gear in the transmission that somehow has worn down and will not touch the gear on the sensor. Either way, I have problems. I think I am destined to drive the bronco and waste gas. Luckily for me, this Iraqi oil burns just fine.

Love/Hate relationship

I love buying things off line, it saves me time(which I have little of) and money(which I have even less of these days). Everyone knows that if your going to buy something off line, there are bound to be some losses due to the increasing number of morons out there. I figure if I am buying something off line, If I dont have the money to just loose, then I better not buy it. This is just incase someone decides they need your money more than you need the item you are buying. There have been multiple times where I have had some shady character say they are selling someone only to find out they lied. Luckily for the most part, I use PayPal for all my transactions and have been able to recover all but $74.87 on items that I had paid for and never arrived. It always seems like the poeple that try to take you for money isn't on the expensive purchases, its on the $30-80 items. So its more annoying than anything. They all pretend to play the game, say they mailed it, then they change their story and say they mailed it at a later date. By that time you have them figured out and they just deny, deny, deny that they would ever try to take someones money. They have their "reputation" to look out for. Always the same B.S. If you press them hard enough, the sometimes acutally send what they agreed to in the first place.
Anyway, after a etended period of time where I have not been "taken" for some small change, on the 3rd of this month I was fortunate enough to do business with another great internet seller. I needed a few parts to get my prelude back on the road, so I created a WTB ad on one of the many forums I visit. A guy responded and said he had the parts I needed. I did a little checking on the guy and found he had been on the forum for quite a long time, so I figured this lowered the chances of him just taking the money and running. Well, while talking to him he claimed he sent the package by priority mail (takes 2-3 days you've seen the commercials) the 2-3 days past......Nothing. So I called him on it, he told me I was impatient and that I needed to relax. I again called B.S. but had no choice but to wait. Days 5,6, 7 went by....everyday I let the seller know I didnt receive the package and that he was full of it. Then he makes a comment about how he sent the package by DHL instead of shipping......WOW what a surprise, he lied. I again told him he was full of it and used the type of language my mother would prefer wasn't in my vocabulary. Day 8,9, and now day 10 still nothing, so I filed a claim with my trusty PayPal and what to my wondering eyes did appear......An email from the seller with a tracking number from DHL. Its only 10 days late, who knows if it will acutally get here or if its just a bogus (stolen) tracking number, It even says it will be delievered today.....but I guess we have to see since it is already 7:30pm and I really dont think DHL delivers after hours.

On a side note, to the "creator" you should already know girls are crazy.....YOU created them after all.

High ho the Dairy'o....A Remodeling we will go.

Well, as some of you might already know, this weekend we are remodeling the kitchen in scratz condo. She has had many people come look at the condo, but no real offers. Everyone that comes comments on the kitchen and how it is out dated and feels boxed in. Well we have decided to remedy this situation. I got a little head start on the process today and if everything goes well, we might actually get the house back on the market for the weekend. I met scrat on lunch so we could go buy the supplies and so she could let me into the condo. After eating, we took a trip to the local hardware store. (I swear, I could hang out in there for hours.) Once we found what we were looking for, I drove scrat back to work, because we found a slide in stove, on KSL.com classifieds and needed to go pick it up after she got off. We didn't want to have 2 cars to worry about in rush hour traffic and the stove was in Lehi. Anyways, the oven will match the counters without having the back of the stove sticking up above everything else. I think the stove will really help complete the change over. (Oh by the way, carrying a stove by oneself is not recommended.)

I made quite a bit of process today, so here are some pictures... (click on them to make larger)

This is what the kitchen looked like before I decided to tear into it. As you can plainly see, this kitchen is not as inviting as one would hope.

This is a picture of everything once we finished with a few items. Looks better already. Just need to do a few more things and it's done.....

And here is a close up picture of the counter top. So you have a better idea of what it looks like. I will post a final picture when we get it all completed.....hopefully by Saturday......Stay Tuned (or get pink eye)

Pavlov’s Dog….

Another day in class, just enjoying the discussions and the goings on around this place. It’s amazing how the same people do the same things every week. I would have to say, I have fallen into this same process as well. Every night at class, I head to the cafeteria and get my mashed potatoes and BBQ pork. In my travels, I see the same security guard every time. He is an older fellow, which you can tell he hasn’t missed a meal in his life, who just so happens to sit and stakeout the food line.
From my classroom door, you can see him head down to the cafeteria, just minutes before break. When break time comes for the rest of the students, it takes me about 3 minutes to head down to the cafeteria, since I’m a little way away from it. When I get there, I always see the security guard is there waiting, drooling, watching, and wanting. He sits, in a chair, just feet way from where the food is housed. You can see his eyes following the food as it’s scooped up and placed on the students trays.. I don’t think he is actually stationed there, I just believe, like Pavlov’s dog, he knows his food is coming. As I stand in line, I watch him, over and over you can see him licking his lips. Then when you least expected it, the cafeteria lady, hands him off a plate of food……and he’s gone……This occurs while the cafeteria lady is helping everyone else. I don’t know if it’s pre-planed and the food has already been pre-served or what. But the guy takes it and goes. Not so much as a thank you. He is just gone. I guess this could just be a working benefit that he receives because he is protecting the students. Im not sure what he is protecting us from, because unless you are watching him to see if he gets food poisoning before you eat your lunch/dinner than I think he is about as worthless as throwing a shoe at someone. Oh well. Luckily this Santa Packs his own “lunch”
Oh by the way, this class is BORING…..(now can I join the cool “bored” group?)
