If you haven't aready heard through the grapevine, my house is officially off the market. Scrat and I were not having any real luck in selling either of our places. Both of us have had quite a few people coming to look at the condo and the house, but no real offers. I have had quite a few offers that were so ridiculous that they just make you mad to think people would dare even making the offer. The final offer that helped change my mind was almost $50k less then the price my house was originally on the market for. That is insane. When I spoke to my agent about this offer, she recommended that we counter with an offer that was only about $6k more than the buyer was offering. I told her there was no way I would go that low. She then told me to sleep on it and let her know what I had decided the next day. From my experience, when I sleep on something, I have a habit of getting out the old financial calculator and going to work with the numbers. Whenever I do this I have a great ability to talk myself out of anything that cost money. So within a hours of looking at all the options, I decided that financially it would be crazy to sell the house for the price I was asking and increase my house payments by almost $1600. So with this thought in my head, I talked to Scrat and she agreed that we would just live in Magna for a little while until the markets are a little better. Once we decided on this, I got to send the agent the great news that "sleeping on it" help me decide. So now we will be the rich people living on the east bench of Magna. Well, we're not really rich however since me and Scrat decided to take my house off the market it there defiantly wont be any living paycheck to paycheck going on anytime soon.
