Fraggin day...

Well, since I am home all alone on this beautiful and peaceful day, I decided to do a little fragging of some of the corals in my 120g reef tank.

I will then put them in to my 12g nano tank.

I have only done this a couple of times and I am still trying to figure out the easiest way of doing this. The keep is being able to rip these corals up from the rocks in such a way that you do not damage them. Kind of like pulling the tablecloth off a table without taking the cups and plates with it. For those who are wondering what fragging is, well it's basically gluing sea corals to rocks....that’s it. This is where I recommend Loctite brand SUPERGLUE Gel Control, it works amazingly well for glueing corals to rocks!

Back to the topic…..So today, I decided to frag some of my eagle eye zoo's.
(not the best pics, but I am using my phone ;p )

This process started by me using some forceps that I just happen to have under my fish tank. I was able to get a few nice little polyps from the main colony. (makes me wonder if proctologists have a better natural ability to frag these things) Anyways, after getting a bunch of these little guys off with a little collateral damage it was time to do the gluing. This is where I realized I didn’t have any extra little rock pieces to glue the zoo’s to.
Luckily, I have a huge hammer and a huge screwdriver that I used to break this larger rock into little pieces. Last time I did this it was in the kitchen. You would be surprised how long it takes to pick up all the little pieces of rock that are blasted around the kitchen. Needless to say, scratz wasn’t too pleased with this adventure last time. So this time, I made the executive decision to crush the rock in the garage. Well it still made a huge mess, however if I don’t get time to clean it up this year, scratz wont have me killed.
Anyways, after breaking up the rock, I successfully glued the little polyps to the rocks as planned.

(the zoo’s aren’t to happy)

While I was in the tank I decided to frag some of the mushrooms as well.

These are easier then the zoo’s because you can just cut them off and attach them to something else. Also as a bonus, when you cut them off, not only does the part that you cut off grow, but the fragged part grows as well. Anyway’s here is a pic of the mushrooms.

That is all for now, I think with all this excitement it is time to wash all the salt off of me and clean up the mess I made on the kitchen table and take a nap.
